Overview of the "User Self Service" application

Portlets

The User Self Service application consists of the two portlets "Welcome" and "Log in".

Depending on which functionalities you want to make available to portal users, you must set these up for the anonymous user or as the default.

Detailed information on this can be found in the sections describing the setup for each functionality.

Administrator

There are no separate roles and rights for the "User Self Service" application in the Intrexx Portal Manager.

As an administrator, you have access to the application and its pages.

User management

The "User Self Service" application offers the option of managing portal users (to a limited extent) without the use of the Intrexx Portal Manager. As a portal user with administration rights, you can block and delete portal users. The "User Self Service" application technology is synchronized with other services. For example, the data that a portal user enters during self-registration is autosaved in the Intrexx User Administration. Some information, such as whether a (future) portal user still has to click on the confirmation link in the registration email, is only stored in the "User Self Service" application.

Email service

If portal users request a new password or register themselves, they will receive corresponding emails. At the same time, you must enter at least one email address on the "Administration" page to which notification emails about registration processes, deletion requests, etc. will be sent.

For the necessary emails to be sent via Intrexx, you must set up the email service in Intrexx.

Detailed information on this can be found in the section Email service.
