Control type

Select the desired control type here.

Data type: String

  • Text

    Formats the content according to the settings made on the Options tab.

  • Email

    Can be used for data fields that contain email addresses. The content is formatted as a link. Clicking on the link opens the standard mail client and automatically adds the email address as the recipient's address.

  • URL

    Can be used for data fields that contain a URL. The content is formatted as a link. Clicking on the link opens the default browser and automatically loads the corresponding page. In the Optionsof the corresponding controls the maximum entry length can be defined.

  • Phone

    The content is shown as a link that can be used to send an SMS or establish a telephone connection with automatic phone number entry. The corresponding settings can be made on the Options tab.

  • Web application

    The content is transformed into a link to web applications. On the Options tab, parameters, e.g. target, can be assigned.

  • Image URL

    Displays the image that the URL leads to according to the settings made on the Options tab.

  • Color

    The surface of the view field is filled with the color that is specified in the connected data field.

  • Video

    This control types enables you to embed videos from the portals YouTube, "Vimeo" and "myVideo" based on the URL, as well as a range of video file formats, images and typical URLs. Supported formats for videos: swf, mp4, ogg, ogv, oga, ogx, webm, mkv, mov. For images: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, bmp.

Data type: Integer

  • Integer

    The number is formatted according to the settings made on the Options tab.

  • User information

    Can be used with data fields that contain the user ID. The view field displays additional user information according to the settings made on the Options tab.

  • Tree path

    The tree path is formatted according to the settings made on the Options tab.

Data type: Double

  • Floating point number

    The number is formatted according to the settings made on the Options tab.

  • Currency

    The number is formatted according to the settings made on the Options tab.

Data type: Date/time

  • Date

    The date is formatted according to the settings made on the Options tab.

  • Time

    The time is formatted according to the settings made on the Options tab.

  • Date & time

    The date and time are formatted according to the settings made on the Options tab.

Displayed value

Here, you can define which value of the current element should be displayed.

Static

The element displays the defined default values.

Data field

Data field

Select the required data field. Data fields from parent data groups are shown in italics.

Select a data field from a parent data group

Opens a dialog where a data field from a parent data group can be selected.

Session / Request / Processing context

Variable

In each case, enter the name of the request, session variable or variable from the processing context, whose value should be displayed.

Users

Value

A data field from the User Manager can be selected as the displayed value.

System data group

Application

Select the application that contains the system data group.

Data field

Select the required data field.

Parameters

Parameters

The parameters that the page requires can be selected here.

Other

Value

Custom bindings can be entered here. A binding consists of at least one BindingEntry that is denoted as follows:

bindingtyp['bindingvalue']

Multiple BindingEntries can be linked together with periods, such as

bindingtyp['bindingvalue'].bindingtyp2['bindingvalue2']

From the second BindingEntry onwards, you can also use single value BindingEntries, such as

bindingtyp['bindingvalue'].primaryKey

Default

Default values are used if the binding does not return a value.

For new data records / For existing data records

With these settings, default values can be defined for new or existing data records, respectively.

Edit default value

Opens a dialog in each case where the default value can be defined.

Apply default value

Transfer the respective defined default value to the other setting.
