Online Update

Installation
"Extras" menu / Online Update

Online Updates give you ongoing access to the latest developments. The update packs are provided on the United Planet download server. An Online Update can be started at any time via the "Extras" menu / Online Update, or you can configure the Portal Manager to check for updates every time it is started. There are three update types:
The Portal Server always has to be updated before the Portal Manager. When you perform an Online Update, you may receive a notification that the services need to be restarted. Afterwards, users need to log in to the portal again. Please note that restarting the services may interrupt processes such as timer actions or data transfers. It may therefore be wise to perform the update when transactions like this do not need to run. If other actions are required, such as republishing applications after the update, you will receive a corresponding notification during the update.

Update on Linux headless server

Please note: When updates are being installed on a Linux headless server, the installer must be run with the system property
java.awt.headless=true
This can be done by supplementing the call in opt/intrexx/bin/linux/updinstall.sh as follows:
# now start the java vm
jre/linux/bin/java -cp $lc_classpath -Djava.awt.headless=true
